FROM QUITO: BUDGET CUTS ON THE FIGHT AGAINST WOMEN IN ECUADOR
In today's program, we discuss the decision by the Ecuadorean
government to completely eliminate the budget allocated to prevent
child and teenage pregnancy and to reduce the funds to prevent
violence against women. Shocking statistics in Ecuador show that 2 out
of 10 women who give birth are minors, and 4 out of 10 women had their
first child when they were teenagers. To talk about this we invited
Lizie Ernst, feminist activist from the National Coalition of Women.
