From Quito: THE WAORANI PEOPLE AGAINST OIL-DRILLING
In today's program, we look at the historic ruling in favor of the Waorani people in the Ecuadorian Amazon, that forbids oil companies from entering their ancestral territories to extract their resources. But what does this mean for Ecuador? a country strongly dependant on natural resources, specially oil. And will other communities follow the same path? What could be the future for hundreds of ancestral Ecuadorean communities? To discuss this we have Waorani leader and a member, Nemonte Nenquimo, and the founder of the Amazon Frontlines Organization, Mitch Anderson.
