From Mexico: Gerardo Otero
On today's From Mexico, the new NAFTA, which is now called the United States-Canada-Mexico Agreement, was signed at the Eleventh Hour a few weeks ago and Canada jumped on board at the very end of the period. Now Mexico and the United States together will enter a new phase of regional integration but there are still a lot of questions remaining regarding both the process and what will happen from now on. It is anticipated that in a very short period of time, the Presidents will sign the agreement and it will have to go through the three congresses where there are still some doubts. Most people are saying they're glad it's over with it. Our guest is Gerardo Otero, a representative from Canada, a professor at the Simon Fraser University of International Studies, to talk about what the Free Trade Agreement looks like from Canada and what this might mean for Canada-Mexico relations.
